Libertroph is a collection of art and stories about white anti-racist organizing efforts past and present. It is a reckoning with what white culture is and what exists beyond it. And it is an invitation for more white people to take up the life-giving work of anti-racist organizing.

🌼 Web Developer Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Libertroph Art Director to decide which web platform, plugins, and integrations can best meet the goals of the Libertroph Magazine team, including:
- a system of category tags across all published work, ensuring readers can browse by genre, theme, and issue
- author/contributor profiles with bios and links to published pieces
- hosting a membership community
- dynamic design integration to weave visual art and text together cohesively
- Support the revamp of the structure of the Libertroph website to make content more accessible and engaging in advance of the launch of Issue 02 in June 2026.
- Provide guidance and development support to the Libertroph team to adapt the website for future issues and digital features.
🌼 Qualifications
- Web development and customization experience, ideally for editorial content. Preference for Squarespace and Wordpress experience
- Practice of integrating disability justice into design
- Intrinsically motivated, curious, and devoted to radical transformation of U.S. culture, with a belief in the power of art and stories to shape culture
🌼 Time
The Web Developer’s role would require more time investment at key moments in the magazine production process. For 2026, candidates can expect the following:
- March - June: approximately 5-7 hours per week, focused on revamping the Libertroph website plus a bi-weekly call with the Art Director
- If the initial web development phase goes well for both the Web Developer and Libertroph team, there’s an opportunity to continue supporting the magazine, approximately 1-3 hours per week, focused on supporting back-end functionality and ideating creative new ways to feature content, and meeting with the Libertroph team monthly to co-create future issues
